HYPER TEXT MARKUP LANGUAGE

As fancy as it sounds, HTML, isn't all that difficult to learn. HTML is a system of tags that tell your browser how to interpret and format your text. Since there are many different browsers out there the end result really always depends on what kind of computersystem you are using.

There are hundreds and hundreds of sites out there trying to teach HTML. Some are a little more complicated to learn, while others are a breeze to catch on to. The best way to learn is through trial and error...and not to give up, of course. Further down you will find a table with links to some Sites teaching HTML.

One of the essentials to learning HTML is CC&P (cut copying and pasteing) It makes a lot of things easier and prevents mistakes made if you just write your codes down by hand and then type them onto your page.

To learn how to Cut Copy and Paste:

1. If you find a Html code you want to use, hit your FIND button on your keyboard. Then type in the beginning of your code or whatever you want to cc&p into your textbox and hit your RETURN button. This should highlite the part you want to copy.

2.a) If you want to copy the whole text area you can simply hold CMD and A on your keyboard. This will highlite the whole text on that page.

b) If you only want to copy part of the text, push and hold your SHIFT and your up and down or over ARROWS until all of the text you want to copy is highlighted.

3. Then push and hold CMD and C on your keyboard. This will copy your highlited area. You will know it has copied it by an audible 'click' sound.

4. To Paste this specific text onto your webpage (or other area), while you are there hold your CMD and lightly tap your V button. This will Paste the text onto your area.
